Ibtihaj Muhammad-First Muslim on U.S fencing team

Ibtihaj Muhammad is an American sabre fencer and the member of the U.S fencing team. She is known well for being the first Muslim American woman to wear hijab while competing for the United States in Olympics. She is also the first female Muslim-American athlete to earn a medal at Olympics. Ibtihaj has been 5 times world medalist from 2011 to 2015. In 2014 she became world champion for Team Sabre.  She is the leading example of courageous women to reach the world with a message of tolerance and kindness.

She has received many honors including the 2016 Olympic Bronze medal. In 2016 she was named by the Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. In 2017 Mattel unveils first hijab-wearing Barbie in honor of Ibtihaj. In 2017 she became the face of Nike’s first ever prohijab model.
